I am starting to love this time of the year! My humans cook this really yummy food, and the best part is that they do not have enough counter space to keep it all away from me. Oh, the smells are amazing. However, I don’t understand why my tall human will get up that early to start making their food, but when I want to be fed before the sun comes up the bedroom door gets closed instead. At first, I could not fathom how my three humans could consume the amount of food that they prepared. Then before I knew it there were a lot more humans in my house. They talked, ate, laughed, played games, and “caught up” with each other. These “family” members were thankful to be together for this big meal. I was thankful to have humans that aren’t used to a sneaky cat and left their plates unsupervised. It was a lot of work for a short amount of time, but for my humans it seemed worth it. Even my tiny human slept in during the “holiday” week.
I can’t say that I understand human traditions, but I loved the extra chin scratches, the treats I suckered humans into sliding under the table for me, and the gathering of people that I don’t see often. It was over quickly, but the feeling seemed to last long past the guests leaving. I am thankful for the family I have found. There is no better peace then being home cozy on my perch in the sunshine, looking down on my humans. Is it possible that things could get any better? Wait a minute….what is that??? My humans just brought a tree into the house…..Now they are hanging all these sparkly cat toys on it!!!!! Look at all the boxes that they bought for me to play in! They really do love me! It truly is the most WONDERFUL time of the year!
