Hello again humans,
I hope that you all have had a great “summer”. This was my first time experiencing this “summer” thing. Admittedly I am conflicted by it. I kept hearing things like “school’s out!” and “summer vacation”. My humans seemed very excited about this concept, and I too enjoyed the positive energy that came with this, but I quickly realized that I was to be left behind. This was not something I was used to. The tall human takes me to work with her even when my tiny human is at “school”, and when she is not at the office we are usually home together. Now there have been instances where the humans have left the house, but they return with all sorts of yummy goodies that they call groceries. This summer thing was different. When they open the door, this wave a heat comes into the house. I am not a fan of this heat, but I have learned the joy that comes from laying directly in front of fans. My tall human has asked me several times why I have to “block” the fan. She obviously doesn’t understand the euphoria that cool air brings during the summer heat, or she wouldn’t have to ask me that. Summer has greatly lessened my desire to go outside. Being an indoor cat is definitely the life for me. My humans put their coverings or “clothes” in these big boxes they called suitcases, and then they left. They were gone for serval days. Now I wasn’t alone. I got to meet some of their friends who house set for them. I enjoyed them as they joined in to my favorite games such as “knock the drink off the table” or “how many items will fall” when I jump from the top of the refrigerator onto the countertops. I had a great time, but I missed my tiny human. I even missed my tall humans. Then one day they returned. They were tired which was weird because they said that the vacation was their time to relax. Not sure how they did it wrong, but they did not look relaxed and it took several days for them to “recover” from the vacation. It was nice for me because the humans were still long enough for me to learn how nice it is to snuggle next to them. While I am glad that they enjoyed their time away, I have learned that just being home with family can be comforting. While I know that the humans had felt cooped up because of the virus, I know they felt comfort in being home together. Sometimes it’s nice to just be in the moment with the ones you love. Speaking of, my tiny human just laid down. It’s snuggled time! See you next time humans!
